USC has landed another 2024 commitment, its third since the start of this past weekend. And it’s a big-time target.

The Trojans are the landing spot for Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra cornerback Dakoda Fields. The 4-star prospect committed to the Trojans after an official visit to campus over the weekend and shared the news on social media Monday. USC was fighting with Oregon, Washington, and Miami for his pledge. Texas, Ohio State, and Cal were also involved as recently as mid-May.

Fields had officials scheduled to Miami, Washington, and Oregon later this month. It’s unclear if he still plans to take those visits or if he’ll be shutting things down completely.

Fields is a 4-star recruit in the industry-generated 247 Composite. He ranks as the No. 78 overall prospect and the No. 10 recruit both at his position and in the state of California.

He’s a 6-foot-2, 175-pound corner who also competed in track and field for Junipero Serra. He has posted a 22.10 200m, a 22-foot long jump, and run both the 4×100 and 4×400 relays. An injury midway through his junior year cut his football season short, but he still managed 14 tackles and six pass breakups. As a sophomore, Fields had 57 tackles, eight pass breakups, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, and two tackles for loss.

USC’s 2024 haul now stands at six known commitments, with Fields ranked the highest of the bunch. You can see his highlight tape below, via Hudl:
