USC basketball named finalist for 5-star center in class of 2024
USC basketball is one of a few teams remaining for 5-star center John Bol.
Bol released his top 8 on Friday afternoon. In addition to the Trojans, he’s still considering Wake Forest, Florida, Missouri, Michigan, Texas, UConn and the Overtime Elite program.

Bol is one of the top big-man prospects in the country. He’s currently ranked as the No. 22 overall player and the No. 4 center in the country for this cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
He attends Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kansas. He’s listed at 7-foot-1, 190 pounds.
USC basketball has been hot on the recruiting trail in recent weeks as it relates to its 2023 roster. However, Bol is a 2024 prospect so he would not join the Trojans — or any other college team — until the 2024-25 season.
Bol is also still considering the Overtime Elite pathway. OTE is a relatively new alternative pathway for high-level prospects hoping to make it to the NBA. Amen and Ausar Thompson, both expected to be lottery picks in the 2023 NBA Draft, played in OTE this past season.
