The Trojans secured some special teams help on Sunday when it earned a commitment from junior college prospect Garth White.

A prospect with the ability to contribute as a kickoff specialist, a place kicker, or a punter, White spent last season at Ventura College and was raised as a 5-star prospect by Chris Sailer Kicking. According to 247Sports, White will enroll at USC in the summer as a preferred walk-on.

White punted 16 times for Ventura College this past season, averaging 37.6 yards per attempt and downing four inside the 20-yard-line. A 6-foot-4, 205-pound prospect, he’s viewed as a high-upside player in either the punter or the kicking game. Wrote Sailer:

Garth is a very talented junior college kicking and punting prospect. He is a great looking athlete with a powerful leg. He hits a D1 level ball off the ground. His ball gets up quick and he has 55-yard range. His kickoffs are strong, college ready. Garth is also a big time punting prospect. He hits a D1 Level ball. A competitor that does well under pressure. I really like his all around upside. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for Garth. Garth is always a great pleasure to work with. He is going to make a fine addition to a 4-year college program. Fantastic combo prospect.

At a recent kicking camp, he drilled a 58-yarder almost right down the pipes to win a field goal competition.
