Lincoln Riley and USC are gearing up for a Week 7 road trip to South Bend, Indiana for the matchup against Notre Dame. The weather in Indiana is a far cry from Los Angeles, and there’s a threat of rain in the Saturday night forecast.

To prepare for the potential threat of wet conditions, the Trojans instituted some unique methods at Wednesday’s practice. Those methods included staff members spraying water in the faces of players attempting to field punts during practice.

The appearance of the drill is somewhat humorous, to say the least. However, it could be a great idea to help get players acclimated to potential wet-ball scenarios.

Whether the method is successful or not will be determined, but video of the segment generated a lot of reaction on social media. Those reactions ranged from people noting the number of missed catches in the drill itself to others trolling the Trojan defense for being unable to force a punt in the first place.
