Southern Cal was one of 6 teams listed for a 4-star edge rusher out of Maryland Friday night. Darien Mayo, who is rated by 247Sports as one of the top prospect out of Maryland, is the player in question.

USC was the only Pac-12 program to crack the list. Also included are Ohio State, Michigan, Maryland, South Carolina and Clemson.

USC is believed to be a major player for Mayo, too. USC was one of the first schools in the nation to offer the 6-7, 225 edge rusher, and he took an unofficial visit to LA in November of last year.

Mayo is considered to be the No. 181 overall prospect in the country, as well as the No. 17 edge and the No. 5 player out of the state of Maryland.
