USC clinched its spot in the 2022 Pac-12 Championship Game Saturday night at the Rose Bowl with a 48-45 win over UCLA.

The Trojans sputtered through a scoreless first quarter and then caught fire in the second. Behind a career passing night from Caleb Williams (470 yards, two touchdowns), USC put up 20 points in the second and then 14 each in the third and fourth to race past UCLA and into the title game.

One year removed from a 4-8 record, USC will play for a conference title. Lincoln Riley’s first season at the helm featured an 8-1 record in conference play and double-digit wins. With a home game against a ranked Notre Dame team on tap for next week, and a number of top-10 teams looking uninspiring around the country, the Trojans are still very much alive in the College Football Playoff as well.
