Marcelles Williams is staying close to home to potentially play alongside his brother. The elite defensive back out of St. John Bosco in Bellflower, California, has committed to play for USC.

Williams included a Father’s Day message in his social media post announcing his pledge to play for Lincoln Riley’s program.

Williams’ father may have the opportunity to watch 2 of his sons play on the same team. Max Williams, Marcelles’ brother, is entering his 5th season at USC after redshirting in 2019. The NCAA’s COVID-19 waiver for the 2020 season allows Max to potentially return for a 6th season with the Trojans and play alongside Marcelles in 2024.

Landing Marcelles Williams is a big recruiting win for the Trojans. Listed at 5-11, 185 pounds, Williams is rated 4-stars, the No. 8 California recruit, No. 9 cornerback and No. 73 prospect overall nationally in the Class of 2024.

Williams has picked up scholarship offers from 33 programs. In March, he named a top 12 of USC, Alabama, Colorado, Louisville, LSU, Miami, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA and Washington.

With Williams on board, USC now has 12 commitments in its 2024 recruiting class. Highlights from Williams’ junior season can be viewed below, via Hudl:
