Lincoln Riley reveals DB, former starter, not with the team entering Week 12
Lincoln Riley and the USC defense do not have one member of the secondary available entering Week 12.
During his Tuesday meeting with the media, Riley was asked about the status of cornerback Ceyair Wright. Riley did not have an update on Wright other than to say he is not currently with the team.
Riley opted not to expound on the status of Wright:
“I don’t. He’s not with us right now, that’s all I can say,” said Riley about the situation.
Wright appeared in 7 games for USC this season and had 4 tackles and a TFL loss in the season opener. He last recorded a tackle with 3 in the win over Arizona, but he most recently saw action in the loss to Notre Dame.
Wright originally joined USC as a 4-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class and made strides in 2022 with 28 tackles, an interception and 2 pass breakups a season ago. This season, Wright had 11 tackles, a TFL and 3 pass breakups.
We’ll see how that situation gets updated when the season wraps up.
