Lincoln Riley returned to practice today after missing the previous 2 days. It had been reported that the coach was dealing with an illness, but specifics were not given.

Now, we know that the coach has been battling a case of pneumonia.

The coach will partake in his usual Thursday morning Zoom call with the media.

After starting the season 6-0, the Trojans have lost 2 straight games. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish easily handled the Trojans, winning 48-20. Then, last weekend, the Trojans fell to the Utah Utes 34-32. Riley’s defense has taken heat in recent weeks, as his team sports the No. 107 total defense.

The Trojans will look to end the losing streak this Saturday against the California Golden Bears. The Bears are also looking to end a 2-game losing streak after falling to Oregon State and Utah.

Riley has compiled a 17-5 record thus far since taking over in LA after the 2021 season. Riley’s Trojans made it to the Cotton Bowl in the 2022 season before falling to the Tulane Green Wave.
