Lebron James provides update for Bronny James ahead of 2023-24 hoops season
Lebron James provided an update on behalf of his son Monday, insisting the star USC freshman indeed intends to play college basketball this season after suffering cardiac arrest this summer during a Trojans practice.
The basketball legend explained that his son has not yet returned to practice for the Trojans and is instead focusing on school as he recovers. However, he is working his way back and will take the court this season according to James.
“Bronny is doing extremely well,” LeBron said Monday, via ESPN. “He has begun his rehab process to get back on the floor this season with his teammates at USC. The successful surgery that he had … he’s on the up and up. It’s definitely a whirlwind and a lot of emotions for our family this summer, but the best thing we have is each other.”
Bronny James is a fringe 4/5-star recruit and joins a scary talented USC roster. The Trojans return Boogie Ellis and get the nation’s No. 1 overall recruit to campus in Isaiah Collier. They should be an NCAA Tournament team and potentially a contender to make a deep run come March.
