Joel Klatt knows what he’s talking about.

The Fox Sports analyst tackled the USC question Thursday afternoon. The Trojans are a polarizing team for some, with many believing their defense will not allow them to reach the CFP in 2023 just as it didn’t in 2022.

But Klatt wanted to just focus on the offense Thursday. He insisted that the Trojans have “the best offense in college football,” even with teams like Washington fighting for that title in the Trojans’ own conference.

So what puts USC over Washington? Reigning Heisman winner Caleb Williams, in Klatt’s eye.

Hear what he had to say regarding Williams and what his paly opens up for the Trojans below:

Williams has been great to start the season. More than anything, he’s been efficient. The USC signal caller has thrown for 15 touchdowns and 0 interceptions this season, the only player in the country that can say that. Only he and Cam Ward over at Washington State can say they’ve thrown more than 12 TDs with 0 interceptions so far in 2023.

Williams also has some of the best splits between completion percentage and average yards per pass attempt. He’s sitting at a completion percentage of just under 75% while averaging 11.4 yards per pass attempt. Only Michael Penix of Washington is in the same zip code in that regard.

The Trojans have a fun one coming up this week. USC will travel to Boulder to take on Colorado, with kickoff set for 9 a.m. PT on FOX.
