Jen Cohen had served as the athletics director at Washington since 2016, but on Monday, she was announced as having taken the same position at USC.

It’s a critical time for USC, who, like Washington, is preparing for a move from the Pac-12 to the Big Ten in 2024. Now, the Trojans have their replacement for Mike Bohn, who resigned in May amid concerns of a potentially toxic work environment during his tenure.

And it’s a homecoming for Cohen, a Southern California native.

“There was only one school I’d ever leave UW for, and that was USC,” she said on Monday, according to ESPN. “I just felt like it was time for me to stretch. It was a great run. This is a new chapter in my life, both personally and professionally, and it was the perfect fit.”

Cohen is the third person to hold the AD position at USC in four years. Bohn was hired in November 2019, taking the reins from Trojans football great Lynn Swann, who resigned after just over three years.

Swann succeeded Pat Haden, USC’s AD from 2010-2016.
