Jen Cohen a ‘smart hire’ for USC, says Pac-12 analyst
Jen Cohen is heading to USC to become the university’s next Athletic Director. The news broke on Monday via ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Shortly after the news broke Sirius XM’s Geoff Schwartz and Sean O’Connell talked about the move. O’Connell discussed how the move is a “big win” on a lot of fronts.
“Jen Cohen’s done a phenomenal job at Washington and is a power player in college athletics now, is very respected. For USC, who has now been embattled for like three separate leadership failures, not referring to the move to the Big Ten, that’s a win. To have someone like Jen Cohen come in, that’s a win on several fronts.”

Schwartz also thought the move was a great call. He described it as a “smart hire” for USC.
“We hung out with her at Media Days, she was awesome,” said Schwartz. “She’s very outgoing and personable, kind of talks to you about the business of everything. Really good hire, smart hire by them. When you’re looking to change the culture at a place, this is a really good hire for that.”
Cohen was with the Huskies since 2016 and is taking over for Mike Bohn. Bohn resigned from the position about 3 months ago.
This seems like a step in the right direction for USC athletics.
