Greg McElroy predicts winner of USC-Notre Dame showdown
One of the biggest games this weekend in college football is the matchup between No. 10 USC and No. 21 Notre Dame. This is one of the better rivalries in all of college football, and the Trojans have a chance to make a statement in terms of the college football playoff.
ESPN’s analyst Greg McElroy made his prediction on the Always College Football show, and it is not a good prediction for USC.
“I like Notre Dame in this game,” McElroy said. “I have not been impressed with what I’ve seen from USC up to this point. No disrespect to Colorado. No disrespect to Arizona. No disrespect to Stanford. No disrespect to San Jose State. I don’t think they’ve played anybody.”
Last week, the Trojans defeated Arizona 43-41 in triple overtime.
Even though Notre Dame has struggled recently offensively and have two losses, McElroy thinks that could be more of a product of wh0 the Fighting Irish have played.
“I know some people might disagree with this, I think Notre Dame is well-coached,” McElroy added. “I got a team with some talent that’s well-coached with their back against the wall in a desperate, gotta-have-it situation. I like their chances.”
Kickoff is scheduled at 7:30 pm ET and will be on NBC.
