Former USC quarterback Malachi Nelson announces transfer destination
Former USC quarterback Malachi Nelson has decided where he will play in 2024.
The QB recently visited Boise State, and it appears that the visit went well. Nelson took to social media to announce that he would indeed be playing for the Broncos in 2024.
Here’s his announcement:
“Boise, this is it.. Committed #BleedBlue,” the QB said.

The former USC quarterback announced his decision to enter the transfer portal last month.
The QB should represent a major upgrade for the Broncos. The Broncos had the No. 67 passing offense in the nation in 2023 and struggled to get anything going through the air. The team most relied on a ground game that finished No. 7 in the nation.
Per the 247Sports Composite ranking, Nelson was the No. 12 overall prospect in the 2023 class. Nelson was also the No. 2 prospect from California and the No. 5 QB. Nelson only saw action in 1 game during his lone season in Los Angeles.
Many expected that Nelson would take over the starting role for the Trojans after Caleb Williams declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. However, the QB decided to try his luck elsewhere and will now lead the Broncos going forward.
Nelson is just the 2nd portal addition for the Broncos thus far, joining former Cal defensive back Jeremiah Earby.
