Former NFL star says USC is his pick to make the national championship
Dez Bryant says USC is his pick to not just make the College Football Playoff, but make it to the national championship game.
The former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver said over the weekend he thinks Lincoln Riley was exactly what USC needed, and that he has the Trojans getting into the CFP field alongside Alabama, Georgia, and Clemson.

Bryant was a star receiver for the Oklahoma State Cowboys from 2007-2009 before being drafted 24th overall in the 2010 NFL Draft. He spent eight years in Dallas, three times selected to the Pro Bowl and once earning an All-Pro selection. Riley was actually the receivers coach at Texas Tech when Bryant was in college, and during that overlap Tech and Oklahoma State had some memorable games. There’s some familiarity there.
But Bryant seems to be very high on Riley.
The Trojans are off to a 4-0 start in the head coach’s first season in Los Angeles. USC beat Oregon State 17-14 in Corvallis over the weekend, surviving an upset bid from the Beavers thanks to a standout defensive performance, four more takeaways, and a late touchdown from wideout Jordan Addison.
USC has climbed to No. 6 in the AP Top 25 after just four weeks. Even after a 4-8 season a year ago, this is shaping up to be an all-or-nothing kind of season for USC. Bryant likes the Trojans’ chances.
