ESPN's College GameDay crew makes their picks on USC-Washington State
USC welcomes Washington State to the Los Angeles Coliseum Saturday evening for a primetime kick on national television. All week, the Trojans have been told they’re vulnerable. Be it because of a shoddy defense or back-to-back wins that were closer than many thought they should be or because of the looming challenge of Utah on Oct. 15… USC’s game against the Cougars has been viewed as the upset spot of the week.
Not so fast.
ESPN’s College GameDay crew was unanimous in their picks for the game during Saturday’s show:
- Desmond Howard: USC
- Pat McAfee: USC
- Rob Riggle (guest picker): USC
- Kirk Herbstreit: USC
Lee Corso missed today’s show as he continues to recover from an illness. He’s expected to return next weekend.
The Trojans are 5-0 and ranked sixth in the AP Top 25. At home, USC has been rather prolific on offense. In three home games so far this season, they’ve put up 153 points and 513 yards of offense a game.
Washington State is 4-1 on the year, with the lone loss coming to Oregon at home in Week 4. The Cougars led by 12 with less than five minutes to play and lost, allowing the Ducks to drive for scores on back-to-back possessions.
Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. PT on FOX. USC is favored by 12.5.
