ESPN analyst names both Caleb Williams and Jordan Addison Heisman frontrunners
ESPN’s Robert Griffin III included USC quarterback Caleb Williams and wideout Jordan Addison on his early-season Heisman frontrunners list this week.
Griffin, a Heisman Trophy winner himself during his playing days at Baylor, has Williams ranked No. 3 in the country heading into Week 3. He trails only Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, who won the award last season, and North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye. Griffin also has Addison at No. 4.
Here’s Griffin’s top 5:

“Between (Williams) and Jordan Addison … they’re gonna make the NCAA give Reggie Bush his Heisman back,” Griffin said in jest.
USC’s stars have been exceptional to begin the season.
Williams has the second-best QBR in the country through two weeks (96.5). He’s second among all qualified quarterbacks in completion percentage (79.6%) and third in yards per pass attempt (12.0). USC coach Lincoln Riley surrounded his quarterback with a bevy of playmakers this offseason, though none better than Addison.
And the connection between the two has immediately paid dividends. Addison posted 172 yards and two touchdowns against Stanford last weekend. His 226 receiving yards through two weeks leads all Pac-12 pass-catchers, as does his four touchdown catches.
There’s still a lot of football left to be played, but Williams and Addison certainly look like they’ll be able to put up big numbers for USC this year. They take the field again Saturday against Fresno State, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. PT on FOX.
