Drake Jackson was taken Friday night by the San Francisco 49ers with the 61st overall pick (second round) in the 2022 NFL Draft.

On Saturday, details emerged for his rookie deal with the Niners. The former USC edge rusher will earn $6.2 million with a $1.7 million signing bonus on a four-year deal with San Francisco, according to The Athletic’s David Lombardi.

Jackson was the second Trojan taken in this year’s draft, joining wideout Drake London, picked eighth overall on Thursday night. Information on London’s deal can be found here.

The 6-foot-3, 254-pound end should get a chance to play an early role within the 49ers defense as it looks for a player to complement Nick Bosa on the other side of the line. A Corona, California, native, Jackson recorded 103 tackles, 25 TFLs, 12.5 sacks, four pass breakups, two picks, and a forced fumble in 28 appearances (26 starts) for USC during his time with the program.
