Caleb Williams was asked about his top five USC football players list. There is no shortage of talent to pick from when it comes Trojans greats.

Williams started off the list with Ronnie Lott. Lott played DB for the Trojans during the late 70’s. He would go on to play for the San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders, and New York Jets in the NFL.

Next up was star RB Reggie Bush. Bush was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the 2006 NFL Draft. He finished 1st in Heisman voting in 2005, but the award was taken away after receiving payments while at USC.

Other USC players who made the list included DB Troy Polamalu, QB Matt Leinart, and DB Taylor Mays. Here’s how the list stacked up:

  • No. 1: Taylor Mays, DB
  • No. 2: Matt Leinart, QB
  • No. 3: Troy Polamalu, DB
  • No. 4: Reggie Bush, RB
  • No. 5: Ronnie Lott, DB

Williams will have a chance to have his name mentioned among the USC greats if he can put up numbers similar to last season.

Williams took home the Heisman after putting up 4,537 yards passing with 52 total touchdowns in his first season at USC.

There are a lot of great players who have come through USC. Do you agree or disagree with Williams’ list?
