Caleb Williams continues to make his place in USC program history and started out with a bang in the first game for the Trojans on Saturday. Williams led N0. 6 USC to a 56-28 win over the San Jose State Spartans.

Williams completed 18-of-25 of his passes for 287 yards, 4 touchdowns and a QBR of 85. This game is the 10th game where Williams has thrown for 4 touchdowns in a game, and he joined former Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart in the number of games thrown for 4 touchdowns. Williams has one more game to tie Matt Barkley’s 11 games of 4 touchdowns.

He has played a total of 15 games for the Trojans as opposed to Leinart, who played 39 games for USC, and Barkley, who played 47 games.

In his first season after Williams transferred from Oklahoma, he completed 333 of his 500 passes for 4,537 yards, 42 touchdowns, 5 interceptions, and a quarterback rating of 168.5.

Williams is off to a strong start to his junior season as he looks to win the Heisman Trophy for a second consecutive season.
