Caleb Williams has been known to send subtle messages with painted nails during USC’s football games this season. Some of them have been part of social impact movements; two weeks in a row earlier this season, Williams painted his nails with the number for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

They haven’t all been positive, though… Last week, he had a not-so-friendly message for Notre Dame painted on his nails.

For the Pac-12 Championship Game on Friday night, Williams followed the same script, painting the words “f— Utah” on them.

USA TODAY Sports’ Kirby Lee caught a closer look during the game:

Williams and USC are appearing in their second Pac-12 title game in three seasons. They’re seeking their first conference title since 2017. There’s a likely bid to the College Football Playoff on the line for the Trojans and possibly a Heisman Trophy on the line for Williams.
