Caleb Williams shared an emotional moment with his family in the moments after USC’s 52-42 loss to Washington on Saturday night.

Williams did all he could vs. the Huskies, throwing for 312 yards, 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. But the Trojans lost for the third time this season, knocking them out of any reasonable College Football Playoff scenarios.

It’s not how Williams likely envisioned this season — presumably his last at the collegiate level — would go. After the game, he climbed into the stands at the LA Coliseum to share an emotional moment with his family.

The loss will also, in all likelihood, remove Williams from consideration to win a second consecutive Heisman Trophy. Three losses, along with the plethora of other candidates for this year’s honor, will likely be too much for Williams to overcome in the Heisman race.

USC could theoretically still reach the Pac-12 title game. It only has two losses in Pac-12 play and still has a game remaining vs. one-loss Oregon. If USC beats the Ducks, it would have the tiebreaker over Oregon going into the final two weeks of the regular season.

However, that will be a tall task. USC will surely be significant underdogs vs. the Ducks in Eugene in Week 12.
