Caleb Williams and USC rolled to a blowout win in Week 0, demolishing San Joes State 56-28. Along the way, Williams threw for 4 touchdowns and 278 yards before giving way to backups Miller Moss and Malachi Nelson.

Williams is already expected to be the top player selected in the 2024 NFL Draft and has generated some lofty comparisons early in his career. ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky added another comparison to the mix Monday morning.

During a discussion on “Get Up,” Orlovsky compared Williams to a trio of superstar NFL quarterbacks. Orlovsky also said he doesn’t buy Williams is undecided on his NFL Draft decision with the QB likely locked into the No. 2 pick “at worst” in the spring.

“Watching Caleb Williams play is like watching this unique combination of Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen on the football field,” said Orlovsky. “There’s just some jaw-dropping moments where you go ‘What a unique talent that everything is slow, he plays crazy fast.’ There’s almost no play on the football field that’s not potentially made because his talent is so unique.

“And his comments last week that he’s not sure if he’s going to enter the (2024) NFL Draft? I don’t believe them, respectfully. He’s that special of a talent… If he doesn’t play another down of college football, he’s at worst the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft.”

While there’s no denying the talent of Williams, he would undoubtedly love to add a Pac-12 title and College Football Playoff appearance before leaving for the NFL. We’ll see if the Trojans can keep things clicking after 56 points in the season opener.
