Bronny James update: USC announces status for Long Beach State game
Bronny James will be available to make his season debut on Sunday against Long Beach State.
USC announced that news on Sunday morning a few hours prior to tipoff. James has been recovering from an offseason medical scare. He suffered a cardiac event that doctors say was caused by a treatable congenital heart defect.
Doctors said back in August that they expected James to make a “full recovery.” He was cleared to begin practicing with the team back in late November.

James, the son of NBA legend LeBron James, is a top prospect in his own right. He was rated as a 5-star recruit and could be a potential 1st round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft depending on how this season goes.
James is known as a high-IQ player who should provide stability alongside Isaiah Collier and Boogie Ellis in the Trojans’ back court.
Tipoff is at 1 p.m. PT on Sunday afternoon.
