Bronny James to USC: College basketball world reacts to Trojans landing LeBron's son
Bronny James is staying home to play his college ball. The son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James announced his commitment to USC on Saturday.
A 6-foot-3 combo guard from Los Angeles (Calif.) Sierra Canyon in the 2023 class, James announced his commitment to coach Andy Enfield and the Trojans on his Instagram page on Saturday. Though the Trojans were viewed as the favorites in his recruitment in recent weeks, the news thrust USC into the national spotlight.
Expect more of that during the 2023-24 season. Much more. But while we wait for the college basketball calendar to roll around to another year, here’s some of the instant reaction on Saturday:
I am a big fan of Bronny James, how he plays the game and how he handles the pressure of being LeBron’s son. Great poise, seems like a terrific teammate. Really good player.
That being said, I do not believe he is a one-and-done type of talent. https://t.co/DIJWGrZrvq

Andy Enfield is a recruiting master.

USC's current projected lineup for 2023-24:
Isaiah Collier, Boogie Ellis, Bronny James, Kobe Johnson, Joshua Morgan/Vince Iwuchukwu

Bronny to USC. Kinda surprised he announced it on a weekend but hype aside this is a great get for Andy Enfield. He needs players, and Bronny can help the Trojans win.

I am one of the bigger critics of Andy Enfield but you can’t argue with his recruiting wins. USC is a basketball destination that it’s never been before.

Sweeney nails it. Bronny will be an elite defender and transition threat, a secondary scoring option behind Collier and Ellis.
Set up appears designed to maximize his skill set right now https://t.co/VrtBRFacZX

I would love to be a fly on the wall when Andy Enfield tells LeBron that Bronny is playing behind someone. https://t.co/xgz4CQsTmK

No excuses for Andy Enfield now

in all seriousness this is a crazy coup for Andy Enfield and USC given where the program was a decade ago
