We’ve seen Dorian Thompson-Robinson take flight before, but it’s always impressive when it happens.

The UCLA quarterback hurdled a Washington defender in the first half of Friday night’s game against the Washington Huskies, and he got some serious air. Facing a second-and-17, Thompson-Robinson leaped over Husky defender Kam Fabiculanan for a gain of 10 yards.

The view from the opposite endzone is pretty incredible, Thompson-Robinson got so high he was almost even with the back judge’s head.

One more look at the play:

Thompson-Robinson had that look in his eye during the first half Friday night, like whatever it took was what he’d give. The Bruin quarterback had a play earlier in the quarter where he pitched the ball to Zach Charbonnet on a speed option and then sprinted upfield and threw his shoulder into a defender.

The fifth-year senior completed 17 of his 26 pass attempts in the first half for 241 yards and two touchdowns. The yardage is a career-high for Thompson-Robinson in a first half (hat tip to The O.C. Register’s James H. Williams for that note).

UCLA nearly doubled up on UW in the first in terms of yardage, and three turnovers from the Huskies helped UCLA build a 26-10 halftime lead on the No. 15 team in the country. The second half is airing on ESPN.
