UCLA softball’s Megan Grant and Jordan Woolery are in the midst of historic freshmen campaigns.

Both Grant and Woolery rank in the top 4 nationally in runs batted in so far this season, with 42 and 39, respectively. According to UCLA, it’s the 1st time in program history that 2 freshmen have recorded 39+ RBI in the same season.

That feat from Grant and Woolery is extremely impressive, especially considering UCLA’s rich tradition in softball. The Bruins have won 13 National Championships in the sport.

Woolery is 4th on the team with a .365 batting average and 8 home runs. Grant, not far behind, is hitting .336 on the year and also has 8 homers.

As a team, UCLA is 36-4 on the season and 12-3 in Pac-12 play. There’s still plenty of time for UCLA’s tandem of superstar freshmen to further improve on their record-breaking seasons.

UCLA will be in action again next weekend against Arizona on the road.
