UCLA loses forward to transfer portal after 3 seasons with the program
UCLA forward Mac Etienne is headed to the transfer portal, according to a report.
Bruin Report Online was 1st to share that news on Thursday afternoon. The news comes just 1 day after freshman Abramo Canka reportedly entered the portal as well.
Etienne spent the last 3 seasons with UCLA. He started 1 game as a true freshman, but otherwise played a limited role.
The next year, in 2021-22, Etienne missed the entire season due to a torn ACL. Last year, he returned and played in 32 games off the bench. He averaged 6.8 minutes per game for the Bruins.
Etienne was a 4-star prospect coming out of high school. He ranked as the No. 42 overall player and the No. 8 center in his class, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Etienne will have 3 years of eligibility at his next destination.

UCLA’s current incoming class includes 1 transfer as well as 4 high school prospects. Each of those high school prospects is considered a 4-star recruit. Overall, UCLA’s class ranks No. 13 nationally per 247Sports Composite rankings.
