UCLA launches fundraising campaign to aid in Maui relief efforts
UCLA has launched a fundraising initiative to help provide relief to the Maui community following devastating wildfires on the Hawaiian island.
Fans are encouraged to donate at least $10 dollars to any of the partner charitable organizations. Those who do will receive two complimentary tickets to UCLA home games against Coastal Carolina on Sept. 2 and NC Central on Sept. 16.
Partner organizations include The Salvation Army Hawaiian and Pacific Islands Division (here), American Red Cross in support of Hawaii wildfires relief (here), Hawaii Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund (here), Maui Food Bank (here), or Chef Hui (here).
In order to receive tickets for the opener, UCLA says fans must display a receipt showing a donation of at least $10 at the Today’s Sales or Customer Service booth between Gates A and B outside the Rose Bowl, prior to the end of the game’s third quarter.
Tickets for the Bruins’ Sept. 16 home game can be picked up inside the stadium at the Tunnel 28 Customer Service location before the end of halftime at the season opener with proof of a $10-or-more donation. QR codes directing fans to the various charities will be displayed on the Rose Bowl Stadium video board before and during the game.
UCLA’s coaching staff will also wear specially-designed “Maui Strong” t-shirts which will feature the Hawaiian phrase, “Malama kekahi i kekahi,” which translates to, “To take care of one another.”
