UCLA picked up a key piece for the 2024 recruiting class Friday, landing a 4-star recruit out of Texas.

The player is Derrick McFall, a 5-foot-10 and 175-pound running back out of Tyler High School. Prior to his commitment, McFall generated a host of Power 5 offers that included Alabama, Louisville, Auburn, Florida, Penn State, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and others.

He becomes the highest-ranked commitment in UCLA’s 2024 recruiting class as things currently stand:

McFall is rated as a 4-star ATH per the 247 Sports Composite. He’s also the No. 33 ATH nationally and the 69th player out of Texas for the class of 2024.

Throughout high school, McFall also plays basketball and participated in track with a 100-meter time of 11.15 as a sophomore. Whether he lines up as a running back or wide receiver, McFall has versatility and is a dangerous open-field threat with the ball in his hands.
