UCLA has its first commitment for the 2024 class
UCLA has its first commitment for the Class of 2024. Four-star cornerback Khristian Dunbar-Hawkins has committed to the Bruins, announcing the news on social media Thursday.
Dunbar-Hawkins plays cornerback Mater Dei. Just days ago, he narrowed his list of suitors to 11. That list included Colorado, Oregon, and Washington alongside UCLA. But it seems he didn’t need to wait any longer.
“I talked to coaching staffs from all over but when I talked to the UCLA coaches, it felt different,” he told 247Sports’ Greg Biggins. The school always feels like home, I like the defensive scheme and how they plan to use me and the blue and gold is amazing and just looks right for me.”

Dunbar-Hawkins could be a versatile defensive back at the next level. He’s played corner and nickel for Mater Dei. At 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, he ranks as the 26th corner prospect in the class. He’s also the 25th-ranked recruit from the state of California and the 272nd overall prospect, per the industry-generated 247 Composite.
