UCLA freshman Adem Bona turns heads at FIBA U20 European Championship
One of the most exciting freshmen in the country this upcoming season is having quite the tournament for the Turkish U20 national team at the FIBA European Championship.
Adem Bona, UCLA’s 5-star big man, put up 17 points, 11 boards, and 2.5 blocks a game through Turkey’s seven games. He averaged 30 minutes a game and shot 66% from the field.
In 39 minutes against Belgium, Bona was completely unstoppable on both ends of the floor. He scored 26 points on 10-of-13 shooting, grabbed eight boards, blocked six shots, and logged three steals for good measure.
Adem Bona had another MVP caliber performance. This time against Belgium.

Bona landed a spot in the championship’s All-Star Five for his efforts.
The 6-foot-9 Napa (Calif.) Prolific Prep product signed with the Bruins out of the 2022 class. He was a 5-star prospect in the industry-generated 247 Composite and the 15th-ranked recruit in the country. He earned a spot on the McDonald’s All-American Game roster and figures to step into a starting role for UCLA coach Mick Cronin right away.
