UCLA beats out USC for commitment from 4-star 2023 forward
Corona (Calif.) Centennial forward Devin Williams has made his college choice.
The 4-star forward from the 2023 class narrowed his list of finalists to two earlier this month — USC and UCLA. On Sunday, he announced that he’ll begin his college career with coach Mick Cronin and the Bruins. He explained the decision to ESPN’s Paul Biancardi.

Williams is a rangy 6-foot-10 forward who ranks as the 68th overall prospect in the 2023 class and the 13th-best power forward, according to the industry-generated 247 Composite. He’s also the 14th-ranked recruit from the state of California in the cycle.
He’s an athletic post who runs the floor well and looks to block shots on the defensive end. For his AAU team, Compton Magic — an NBA talent factory — Williams recently put up 21 points, seven boards, and four blocked shots.
