UCLA hoops got great news on Monday with the announcement that 2023 forward Brandon Williams is joining the Bruins’ class.

A 4-star forward out of Middle Village (N.Y.) Christ the King, Williams announced his commitment to UCLA during a ceremony at his high school. He picked UCLA over St. Johns.

The 6-foot-7 Williams is a 4-star, top-100 prospect in the industry-generated 247 Composite. He ranks as the 88th overall recruit in the class, the 17th-best prospect at his position, and the second-best recruit from the state of New York.

Williams is young for a high school senior, but possesses valuable positional versatility. He’s a combo forward who can handle and distribute the ball.

“Mick Cronin, he’s a great coach and I know what kind of style of play he wants and what he’s looking to do and I feel like I can help,” Williams told 247Sports’ Eric Bossi. “That versatility and how being 6-foot-7, almost 6-foot-8, I can make some of those passes that other guards can’t make.”

He’s the second known commit for UCLA’s 2023 class, joining 4-star forward Devin Williams, a 6-foot-10 prospect from Corona, California.
