According to multiple reports, UCLA edge rusher Mitchell Agude has entered his name into the transfer portal.

Bruin Report Online was first to share the news. It comes after Agude announced last month he planned to return to UCLA for the 2022 season.

Agude arrived at UCLA in the spring of 2020 from the junior college ranks. In his first season with the team, he played in all seven of UCLA’s games during the COVID-shortened season while drawing five starts. He posted 24 tackles, nine tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, and 2.5 sacks.

In 2021, Agude was once again one of the Bruins’ best defensive playmakers. His 54 tackles ranked third on the team. He added 6.5 TFLs, four forced fumbles, three pass breakups, and a pair of sacks. His play earned him a spot on the All-Pac-12 Second Team.

His departure will leave UCLA with a significant void on the outside. The Bruins will return only four of their top 10 tacklers from last season’s defense. They’re also looking for a new defensive coordinator after the departure of longtime DC Jerry Azzinaro.
