Mick Cronin, UCLA HC, explains why in-game coaching is 'overrated' following win over Colorado
Mick Cronin and UCLA did what good teams do when facing tough situations: they executed and found a way to win.
The Bruins, with a 60-56 win over Colorado Sunday, have improved to 25-4 and 16-2 in the Pac-12, well within range of a potential 1-seed come Selection Sunday.
Following the game, head coach Mick Cronin explained why putting the ball in the hands of his playmakers to let them execute (Jaime Jaquez, Tyger Campbell) is paramount in late-game situations.
Mick Cronin: “Coaching only goes so far. Coaching’s overrated. Good coaching is you develop your players and then put the ball in the right guy’s hands. We had some good execution down the stretch.”

It’s a strategy that has paid off so far for Cronin.
The Bruins have won an incredible 8 straight and clinched the pac-12 regular season title with 2 games to go. UCLA finishes their season against Arizona State and Arizona.
