Jan Vide, Slovenian guard, reportedly makes Pac-12 commitment
Jan Vide became the latest international prospect to join the UCLA Bruins.
Jonathan Givony of ESPN reported the commitment. Vide followed Ilane Fibleuil, 6-foot-6 wing out of France, who committed to UCLA last month.
Vide, 18, is considered one of the top prospects in Europe at his age and was named MVP of the ANGT finals at the Euroleague final four. The 6-foot-7 Real Madrid product is expected to bring significant scoring prowess to the Bruins.
Vide last summer became the top scorer at the Under-17 World Cup that was held in Malaga, in which he averaged 20.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists. Vide had a strong run in the 2023 Adidas Next Generation Tournament in Kaunas, averaging 19.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game, shooting 52.9% from the field.
This season Vide has played 26 games with Real Madrid B in the EBA League with averages of 18.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
2005-born Jan Vide led Real Madrid to the ANGT championship in Kaunas, averaging 21.2 points and 4 assists. The Slovenian prospect was named the MVP of the tournament.
