UCLA is on the board for the first time this season.

Quarterback Ethan Garbers connected with Carsen Ryan on a perfectly-placed dime from 21 yards out to give the Bruins a 7-0 lead just a few minutes into the 2nd quarter of UCLA’s season-opener against Coastal Carolina.

Coastal Carolina managed to respond to the touchdown with a field goal to make it 7-3, but UCLA’s offense seems to have found their rhythm.

Garbers is making his debut as the Bruins starter and is impressing early on. A few minutes into the 2nd quarter, Garbers has 102 passing yards and a touchdown on 7/11 passing.

UCLA is coming off a 9-4 season that ended with a loss to Pitt in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl. The Bruins had some big wins last year, but couldn’t capitalize in some crucial moments. This season, UCLA is looking to patch up some holes and find success.
