ESPN’s College GameDay crew is split on Saturday’s top-25 clash between Oregon State and UCLA.

The 15th-ranked Beavers host the 18th-ranked Bruins at Reser Stadium on Saturday. Oregon State is coming off a 52-40 win over Cal while UCLA is soaring after a 25-17 win over what was a top-15 Washington State team.

That Cougar team is the only one to beat Oregon State so far this season. But that win came in Pullman. Winning on the road has proven difficult all around the league to start the season.

Here’s how GameDay’s panel picked:

  • Desmond Howard: Oregon State
  • Pat McAfee: Oregon State
  • Joel McHale: Oregon State
  • Lee Corso: UCLA
  • Kirk Herbstreit: UCLA

“Key in the game is Dante Moore, the freshman quarterback. He cannot turn the ball over. Chip will put him in a good position to take care of the ball,” Herbstreit said. “UCLA’s defense and the running of Steele wins the game.”

Moore has thrown pick-sixes in back-to-back games as UCLA’s starting quarterback. The Bruins have been able to overcome those mistakes on the strength of their defensive play.

Saturday provides another test. Oregon State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei threw a career-best five touchdown passes a week ago.

Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. PT on FOX.
