Not even three minutes had been played and two touchdowns had already been scored inside the Rose Bowl.

UCLA’s opening possession featured a three-and-out and a blocked punt recovered and returned for a touchdown to put Bowling Green up 7-0. A first-down sack for Dorian Thompson-Robinson on the Bruins’ second possession and a run from Zach Charbonnet on second set the Bruins up with an anxious third down once again.

Thompson-Robinson took the snap and was immediately flushed from the pocket by the Falcons, but the UCLA quarterback beat a Bowling Green defender to the edge and then it was off to the races. Thompson-Robinson got a few key blocks from his receivers and walked into the endzone for a 68-yard touchdown run.

Thompson-Robinson is the first five-year starting quarterback in the Pac-12’s history. He’s a primary driver for UCLA this season.

For his career, he’s been a dangerous rushing threat. Thompson-Robinson enters his final year in Westwood with 1,181 career rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns. He had 609 yards and nine scores just last season.

The Bruins are playing Bowling Green on the Pac-12 Network.
