Dante Moore on role in Week 1: 'This quarterback room is really special'
Dante Moore was not named the starting quarterback for UCLA in Week 1. The former 5-star recruit is still trying to learn everything he can from the other UCLA QBs.
Moore spoke to the media on Monday after practice. Chip Kelly will be going with Ethan Garbers as QB1. Kelly is still going to give Moore some playing time, and the UCLA QB described the chance as a blessing.
“It’s a true blessing. I know that this quarterback room is really special. There’s many great quarterbacks. I’m the youngest in the room, so being out here with Garbs (Ethan), Collin (Schlee), Justyn (Martin), and Chase (Griffen). Learning from them, learning from their mistakes is a just a true blessing for sure. I know from playing in the Rose Bowl before, it’s gonna be insane.”
Moore will be playing in his first college football game ever on Saturday. It won’t an easy environment to play in, even if it is at home technically. The Rose Bowl is one of college football’s most-sacred sites.
UCLA is taking on Coastal Carolina in the season opener. Moore will be seeing playing time at some point during the game.
Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. PT on ESPN.
