Chip Kelly sat down with Joel Klatt on “The Joel Klatt Show” on Thursday to discuss what the UCLA HC loves about coaching football. It’s not all about winning to Kelly.

Klatt asked Kelly what the UCLA HC loves currently about being with Bruins. Kelly stated that it’s finding happiness in the day-to-day that makes coaching special.

“What I love the most is the day to day, the comradery to be in a staff meeting. I used to think staff meetings were such drudgery. When you’re not in that, I think you begin to miss those days because of the personalities you get to work with on a daily basis. When it’s over you’re gonna look back on the locker room experience. If you can find joy and happiness in the day to day that’s what makes it special.”

It sounds like Kelly is having a great time at UCLA based on his response to Klatt’s question. The Bruins are lucky to have him.

UCLA faces Coastal Carolina in its season opener on Sept. 2. That game will be shown on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. PT.
