Abramo Canka, former UCLA wing, announces transfer to ACC school
Abramo Canka is heading to ACC country. The former UCLA wing announced where he’ll be playing in 2023 per ESPN’s Jonathan Givony on Thursday.
Canka appeared in 22 games for the Bruins this past season. He was the No. 35 small forward and No. 1 recruit out of Italy in the 2022 class per 247Sports. He is a native of Genoa, Italy.
Canka is going to be playing for Wake Forest next season. The news broke via Twitter.

In the 22 games Canka played he averaged 1.7 points, 0.7 rebounds, and 0.2 assists. With a large veteran presence taking up a lot of the minutes it was hard for Canka to find playing time at UCLA.
Much like last season the Bruins reached the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament in 2022. Their season ended in a similar way as they lost to Gonzaga after losing to North Carolina in the same round just a year before.
Canka will be joining a Wake Forest team that went 19-14 in 2022. The Demon Deacons’ season ended when they lost to Miami in the quarterfinal round of the ACC Tournament.
While Wake Forest did not make it to the NCAA Tournament, it was still a good accomplishment for the program. It was the Demon Deacons’ first ACC Tournament quarterfinal appearance since 2009.
Canka will be heading from Los Angeles to Winston-Salem.
