The Cardinal earned a commitment from 2023 3-star offensive lineman Luke Baklenko on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-6 offensive tackle from Oaks Christian (Calif.) in Westlake Village chose Stanford over interest from Boston College, UCLA, and Washington, among others. He took an official visit to Palo Alto over the weekend and came away impressed.

Baklenko rates as a 3-star prospect in the industry-generated 247 Composite. The in-house evaluators for 247Sports are a little higher on him than the industry consensus, though. He’s ranked as the 48th-best tackle prospect in the 2023 class and the 70th-best player from the state of California.

“I spent a lot of time with (head coach David) Shaw,” Baklenko told 247Sports’ Greg Biggins. “He helped clarify their plan for me, where I can be developed and how I’ll impact the program. I left very comfortable with the staff, the players and the culture there. I think Stanford has a bright future and I’m very excited to be a part of it.”

Baklenko can theoretically play either guard or tackle at the collegiate level. He gives Stanford its sixth known commitment for the 2023 class. He’s the first lineman of the group, but will come in on the heels of a four-man offensive line group that signed from the 2022 class.
