Stanford picked up a major commitment late Monday night.

The Cardinal landed a pledge from 4-star EDGE Nako Tuakoi. A California native, Tuakoi is coming off of an official visit to Stanford from this past weekend.

“I appreciate all the love and support everyone has shown me,” he wrote in-part. “I have been blessed with life changing opportunities and I am grateful for it all. This was not an easy decision but is one that I felt presented me with amazing opportunities both on and off the field. With that being said, I would like to announce my commitment to Stanford University.”

Tuakoi had offers from programs such as USC, Notre Dame, Oregon and Arizona, amongst others.

He’s the No. 291 overall player and the No. 22 EDGE  in the country for the class of 2024, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 24 player from the state of California.

Tuakoi attends Fremont Senior High School in Oakland, California. He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 222 pounds.

He’s now the top-raked recruit in Stanford’s 2024 recruiting class. The Cardinal have 15 commitments overall and own the nation’s No. 25-ranked class, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
