Pac-12 commissioner George Kliavkoff will present a media rights deal to remaining members this week, according to a conference insider.

John Canzano wrote Monday afternoon that the media rights deal presentation will come in the next 48 hours. The conference could also be adding new members this week.

The conference’s media rights deal has been expected throughout the 2023 offseason. On July 12, at Pac-12 Media Day, Kliavkoff implied that a media deal would be announced soon, but the commissioner wanted football to be the focus.

Q. Is it at all frustrating for you personally and professionally that despite what you’re trying to push, the football, the quarterbacks, that you’re still dealing with questions about media rights timelines in the midst of all that?

COMMISSIONER GEORGE KLIAVKOFF: I don’t consider it frustrating. It’s a reinforcement for me of what dedicated and passionate fans we have and how much people care about college athletics. I get it.

At the same time, I don’t want the opportunity to be missed today to talk about football. We’re not announcing a deal on purpose today because I want the focus to be on football.

Since then, the Pac-12’s 2024 membership has decreased from 10 schools to 9 members with the departure of Colorado for the Big 12. San Diego State, SMU, Boise State and Colorado State have been linked to the conference in various rumors and reports, while the Big 12 could reportedly add Arizona and other “Four Corners” schools.

In addition to linear TV networks, streaming providers such as Apple and Amazon have been linked to the conference as potential media partners.
