Pac-12 bracketology: 2 teams fall on wrong side of bubble in Joe Lunardi's latest update
The bracketology outlook for the Pac-12 is getting updated with two teams sliding off the bubble for the NCAA Tournament.
ESPN’s Joe Lundardi dropped his latest outlook for March Madness on Tuesday, and the picture is not great for the Pac-12. UCLA and Arizona are locks for the field, but that is where the good news for the conference ends.
As for Oregon and USC, both teams find themselves on the outside looking in for the NCAA Tournament. The Ducks are a bit higher due to a win over USC and a narrow loss to UCLA, but it’s not enough to keep Oregon out of the “first team out” slot of Lunardi’s projections. USC was right behind Oregon and Kentucky in the “first four out” grouping.
As for Utah, the Utes have climbed to third place in the Pac-12 standings with a 10-5 record in league play, but that’s not enough to crack the field for March Madness. Even with back-to-back wins over Cal and Colorado, Lunardi slots Utah into the “next four out” section.
With the season heading to the final stretch, we’ll see if any of these teams can change their outlook ahead of the conference tournaments.
