FOX updates plans for remote broadcast crews during Pac-12 hoops coverage
FOX has reportedly updated its plans regarding the use of remote broadcast crews for Pac-12 basketball coverage.
According to John Canzano, frustrations within the league had been growing due to FOX’s usage of remote crews for basketball games this season. As of Friday, Canzano reports FOX will go back to using on-site broadcasters for the rest of the season.
“They get it,” said Jamie Zaninovich, Pac-12’s deputy commissioner, per Canzano. “The rest of the games will have on-site broadcasters.”
FOX has informed the Pac-12 that it will broadcast the remainder of this season’s basketball games with in-person broadcasters.
No more remote crews.

That is certainly good news for college basketball fans throughout the Pac-12. While remote broadcasts might make sense for a network due to cost-effective measures, it is hard to replicate the full benefit of an on-site crew for college basketball.
