The Rotary Lombardi Award announced its 2022 preseason watch list on Monday. The list features 78 names spread across college football, including eight from the Pac-12.

The Lombardi Award goes annually to college football’s top offensive or defensive lineman, who, in addition to outstanding performance and ability, best exemplifies the character and discipline of NFL Hall of Fame Head Coach Vince Lombardi. The SEC, Big Ten, and Big 12 each had 11 selections to lead all conferences while the ACC had eight just like the Pac-12.

Three of those eight come from Oregon, with two more at USC. The group out west:

  • OL Alex Forsyth, Oregon
  • DL Brandon Dorlus, Oregon
  • LB Noah Sewell, Oregon
  • OL Andrew Vorhees, USC
  • DL Tuli Tuipulotu, USC
  • OL Braeden Daniels, Utah
  • OL Jaxson Kirkland, Washington
  • DL Ron Stone Jr., Washington State

For eligibility, the Lombardi Award considers a down lineman, end to end, either on offense or defense, setting up no further than 10 yards to the left or right of the ball at the time of the snap. It also considers linebackers on defense who set up no further than 5 yards back from the line of scrimmage.

A mid-season watch list for the award comes out on Oct. 15. Semifinalists will be revealed on Nov. 10 with four finalists announced two weeks later, on Nov. 23. The award winner will be announced on Dec. 7.
